Modeling check
Connected Geometry
Checks mesh objects for disconnected geometry components and stray vertices, edges, or faces that are separate from the object's primary mesh body.
Why this check exists
Unintended disconnected geometry can cause shading, deformation, simulation, Boolean, export, and fabrication problems, while also making meshes harder to edit and validate.

Settings
| Setting | ID | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum Loose Vertices |
minimum_loose_vertices
|
int | 1 |
Only report disconnected components containing at least this number of vertices.
Min: 1
|
| Ignore Isolated Vertices |
ignore_vertex_only_components
|
bool |
Ignore disconnected components containing vertices but no edges or faces.

|
| Ignore Loose Edges |
ignore_edge_only_components
|
bool |
Ignore disconnected components containing edges but no faces.
|
|
| Ignore Disconnected Faces |
ignore_face_components
|
bool |
Ignore disconnected components containing one or more faces. Only affects whether
these are REPORTED as an issue - face-containing components are never auto-removed
by Fix regardless of this setting, since they could be legitimate disconnected
content, not a mistake.

| Profile Slow Objects |
profile_slow_objects
|
bool | True |
Print per-object Connected Geometry execution times to the system console so
expensive meshes can be identified.
|
| Slow Object Threshold |
slow_object_seconds
|
float | 1.0 |
Only objects taking at least this many seconds are listed in the profiling summary.
